She was named British Woman Kart Racing Driver of the Year in 1996, when she was only 13 years old. Susie went on to win her maiden 24Hr Middle East Kart Championship and the Scottish Junior Intercontinental “A” title in 1997, with an impressive title under her belt and a clear taste for success. She won the British Women Kart Racing Driver title for four years in a row and was named the Top Female Kart Driver in the World in 2000.


Susie began her professional racing career in the Formula Renault UK Championship in 2001, wherein she finished third three times and was nominated twice for the British Young Driver of the Year Award.
